✅ ID Card Printer Printhead Compatibility Guide
If you're replacing a printhead or stocking spares, it's important to know which ID card printers share the same printhead technology. This guide covers the most common models on the market and details which machines use compatible printheads.
🔹 IDP Smart Series
- IDP Smart 30
- IDP Smart 31
- IDP Smart 50
These three models share the same printhead, making parts interchangeable.
Note: The IDP Smart 70 uses a different, high-capacity printhead and is not compatible with other Smart models.
🔹 Fargo DTC Series
Group 1:
- Fargo DTC1000
- Fargo DTC1250e
Group 2:
- Fargo DTC4000
- Fargo DTC4250e
Group 3:
- Fargo DTC4500
- Fargo DTC4500e
Each group shares printhead compatibility within the group only.
Note: Fargo DTC1500 uses a unique printhead.
🔹 Fargo HDP Series (Retransfer)
- Fargo HDP5000 – Unique printhead
- Fargo HDP5600 & HDP6600 – Share the same printhead
HDP5600 and HDP6600 are compatible with each other but not with HDP5000.
🔹 Magicard Printers
- Magicard Pronto – Unique printhead
- Magicard 300 – Not compatible with any other model
- Magicard 600 – Uses a different printhead than 300
- Magicard Enduro & Enduro 3E – Share the same printhead
Magicard printheads are generally model-specific.
🔹 Zebra Card Printers
- Zebra ZXP Series 1 – Unique printhead
- Zebra ZXP Series 3 – Unique printhead
- Zebra ZXP Series 7 – Not compatible with Series 1 or 3
Zebra uses separate printhead designs for each series.
🔹 Evolis Card Printers
- Zenius & Primacy – Not compatible
- Primacy & Primacy 2 – Not compatible
- Badgy 100 & 200 – Share the same printhead
